Alright gitz. Not been on me thinkin' stone for a while and at one point was going to abandon the blog as I just couldn't get the motivation after a long period of busy work but the wurdz are stating to come into me noggin again!
Basically Mmmmm Gud will be back soon. Going to do a bit of redesign work on the blog, clear it up and might also shift focus to Black Orcs a bit more and what goes on and how to survive our constant nerfs.... I'm still keenly playing Warhammer, enjoy it and have managed a few accomplishments since I last posted so there will be lots to talk about. This time though there will be no promises for regular posts, just when I want to put them up rather than feeling I have to write something for the sake of it.
There WILL be a new post this week, it'll be the first part to my Black Orc guide which was actually written back in February before work got busy but never posted.
Anyway gitz.. Go forth, Waaaaaaaagh and may Gork be with yer!

I enjoy Warhammer
There. I said it...
For all the time I sit there wanting to go in a sulk, or turn the game off. I come back or find something else in WAR to do. I think too many people focus on just the RvR Zerg and get sick of it, thus burning out on it.
I'd rather be in a small guild warband, roaming the streets of Praag, using Snikkit the gobbo as bait to lure groups to us before smushing them. Jumping around, finding sneaky paths (nothing cheaty) to have a bit of fun. Polishing my RvR skills (you can polish a turd.. but it's still a turd) in single combat or hunting small groups. Jumping into some premade scenarios with guild mates and running instances no matter how buggy or boring they are. Getting tokens for gear (it's a step closer). Checking out new lairs or live event stuff.
Yes, the game still needs quite a bit of work done on server stability, class balance and squishing dem bugs but I'm enjoying it still. I feel I have a choice in what to do (though I'd like a bit more...) and as the servers mature and communities strengthen the game will bond the players together more (or that's cause someone put a Sticky Squig on me thinking stone). More rivalries will come together, the nemesis system will make players stick in your mind more.
There is still a huge amount of untapped potential in WAR and I hope EA gives it the long term support it needs to really grab a chunk of the market. No, I don't think WAR will ever top 1m subs, the chance has now gone, but I do think that we can reach 500k and stick to that, but we have to stick with the game.
Sure, it's shitty having to put up with server crashes and lag, it's incredibly frustrating to play sometimes with the constant crowd control locking you out, but yet, most of us, stand up, dust ourselves off and get stuck back in.
WAR will only improve over time, it will get better and more playable if given the chance. No game is a shiny beacon of perfection, WoW's Lake Wintergrasp PvP zone is a laggy turd ball if you ever play it at peak time, it IS worse than forts with less people in it so we're moving the right direction. But I think at this stage the crucial thing is for people to not burn out and hate the game. There's no harm in taking the odd day or two off, sneak on for a few hours each week if you like. WAR has that instant fix about it. It allows you to grab a few quick scenarios and log off without waiting for a 1 hour Warsong Gulch to finish because sides are turtling.
I look forward to seeing what's coming after the Tomb Kings and what changes will be made. We still have missing cities to go, plus who knows what else... Maybe a trip to Lustria or Athel Lorn. Whatever happens, I still see WAR raging on for years to come...

Mmmmm Gud - review
Well since my last post was a fairly negative one (born out of a night of sheer frustration) I've decided to sit down with my Mmmmm Gud list and think of what I enjoy in WAR and what makes me want to log in (or not log out)
1) Small scale RvR
Wot? Hang 'on... Last time you loved mass scale RvR... True, but I'm starting to appreciate the smaller scale RvR, whether it's in scenarios or small war bands. The first crucial part is that it's on a much more personal level. You don't get hopelessly zerged constantly, you can pick and choose your fights a lot more. Smaller armies are much more manoeuvrable and WILLING to do more than renown farm. They can escape a lot quicker or strike a lot faster. We've been running alliance war bands recently and just having less than 20 folks in it and you can do more than a war band and a half. Communication is so much better, people help and single target more. Yeah, things still bugger up, but you're with a small group of friends so it's more fun.
Shame when I'm out solo most Order run from me when they're below 1/3rd health *grumblez*
2) The maturing community
As the game matures the community starts to pull together, you start to trust your guild mates more, names are recognised you get whispers from people saying "Hey, love your blog!" (no really.. I've had one.. epic win!). Once you start to get used to your guild and the people you share the game with it starts to feel a lot more comfortable in the game. Logging in to share your time with a great bunch of people and wonderful friends can make a dull day or game a lot more fun. Spend some time chatting with your guild mates and do more events with them, whether it's ORvR, scenarios or grinding. It helps to bring the community together which helps you and the game in the long run.
3) Fixes are coming.... 'onest guv'
We're still waiting on details and it might be almost a month since 1.2 was released with still unbalanced classes and abilities but the fixes and bug squishes WILL come, just for every day Mythic doesn't release details it's another day that someone will get pissed off with a broken aspect and quit.
4) Easy PQ's
I still enjoy going round these and finding new ones or fun ones. I stumbled into a quick and fast Tier 4 PQ the other day and ended up grinding a bucket load of gold and greens from it without realising. Go out and explore them, find some fun ones and see how they progress, follow the little stories they give, they can be fun wee reads (and even better, take your guildies and friends to the harder ones).
5) Updated RvR Influence system.
I am eagerly awaiting more news on this, many people already go out and use the tier 4 armour sets so by the time they get full influence the gear is pretty much redundant, would be nice to either have a themed set to collect every three months which would be usable in all instances barring the cities or have some way to upgrade them by spending your gathered influence.
So that ends a quick Mmmmm Gud for today. Sit down and give me your five things you enjoy about WAR right now, you don't need a huge spiel o' pish about them, but lets see what you all think...

Mmmmm Gud - review
Well time to appraise what I've been enjoying in WAR this last week or so. Things won't always change, there will be certain aspects I always enjoy so will always remain in the list, but I'll try to put a fresh perspective on them so as to avoid it being a copy/paste job each week.
1) Cultivation
I'm really enjoying this now. Prior to 1.2 I had a lowbie alt with 200 Cultivation (levelled without any repeatable quest seeds) but once he got to 200 I pretty much stopped doing anything with it due to lacking the time to invest in making sense of all my seeds. Now with the system streamlined it's much more accessible, you glace at your bags to see what you get from a special moment (would be great to get more than dye and an improved seed though, maybe a one shot special seed or spore? to give you a random effect, doesn't have to be a bonus to stats or skills, maybe something to make you glow, change your appearance or whatever). I've just been spending time in the game planting away even though I'm at 200, just chatting and making posts for the blog. Mmmmmm gud!
2) More fixes in 1.2.1
Nothing mentioned yet over than another 400 fixes. Thumbs up, never say no to getting the game smoothed out!
3) Easy PQ's
OK, really enjoying this as well, go into a t4 area and just smash some stunties over and over with influence, the chance of seeds (see Cultivation above). Being able to feel like I can read a story, while putting the boot in AND getting rewarded for it, either on my own or with a great friend while chatting away over Vent or spamming each other. Great on your own, better with a mate! Think I'll list my T4 favourite easy PQ's and see how they compare to others.
4) Continual open RvR in the lakes
Only happened once this week but still enjoy seeing ranks battle each other, shame it's not happening as often as I'd like it. There needs to be more incentive for armies to meet each other on the battlefield and not just zone hop once they have finished a clash. Increasing the renown for a pitch battle over time instead of making it slow down to single points as people die. hmm, I sense another post idea coming up.... *thinkz*
5) Exploring!
This week I found one of the new lairs and discovered a couple more tome unlocks for history and lore. Do yourself a favour and just read some of them. One of my favourites will become a basis of another post at some point. Just take a wander through a zone you didn't spend much time in... Your Choppa or Slayer will still be there when you get back. There's no rush...
So that was my top five things I've been enjoying or am looking forward to in WAR this week. WAR's Darkness Falls (I always forget what it's called) has dropped out the list for a reason, again this will be the basis for a post. Is it really going to be a good addition to WAR?
What's your top five?

Mmmmm Gud - review
Well onto my first review of the five things I really enjoy in WAR right now. These will change from week to week, though some might hold fond memories for a long time.
1) Fixes, tweaks and polishing in 1.2
ANY MMO that admits it has 500 bugs fixed in a patch is getting a thumbs up from me. These are the little things that just don't sit right with you, whether it's the horrible game breaking bugs (ermm... can't think of any) or the simple things that just annoy and make the game look like it's in beta (stuck animations). Anything that improves this game and establishes it firmly in the MMO world is a great start and worthy of a thank you for still polishing the game up for us rather than leaving it half broken at points.
2) WAR Darkness Falls
Now I did play DAoC for a while (Excalibur - Midgard (Savage, Thane and Bonedancer) but didn't do all that much in DF due to it being a quiet place when I was playing. But the actual concept is great, a dungeon based rvr lake with tokens to save for rewards, interesting monsters, good story lines and a back and forth mechanic. Question is, will this drag players from the ORvR lakes?
3) Continual open RvR in the lakes
A clash of arms. Destruction meeting Order in the fields of war, corpses lying, explosions going off and a stunty trying to bite yer kneecaps off as you kick him in the noggin'. Brilliant stuff. The battles featuring sides for an extended period is the stuff I live for in the game. Not RvBO or RvKeep. The proper battles that last in for hours as sides struggle to match each other and don't simply zone hop or log out when they start getting beaten back. That.. is WAR!
4) New potions in 1.2
An addition to crafting is always fun for me. I do enjoy just playing about with things when not in a particularly bashing mood or I have a bit of lag, so being able to make new potions (which last through death.. yippee!) and discover new things is good fun. Now to get them to allow us to discover new almost unique potions upon a critical success on a high end pot...
5) Exploring!
To be able to stand in places of lore, to look down upon a battle field, to just walk through a blizzard or squelch through the marshes. WAR is a great game for the explorer in you. Even better when you sometimes have to struggle past an enemy camp to see things on the other side. And of course, sometimes, you get that little ping as you unlock a new tome entry, made all the more satisfying when you do it without aid and just your own sense of exploration
So that's my top five MMmm Gud! for this week. What's yours?

So.. Dis 'ere is me thinking rock?
Well welcome once again to Mmmmm Gud. If you're just new here, or more likely just discovered this a year after this first post then the reason it's a welcome again is that I managed to delete all my old posts (well all three of them) and couldn't get them back.
The website is really just an outlet for me to rant, discuss and propose things for Warhammer Online. I'm firmly of the belief that should you have an issue with a game, then propose a solution or a better method, so needless to say I will be spewing what rubbish comes from my head at any given time.
At this time I've got a few regular features planned. A review of the things I really like in WAR right now (Mmmm Gud) and then the things that are really annoying me right now (Dat 'Urtz!). I'll also be joining the community project thingy on Warhammer Alliance so hope to find a new blog each week to promote for the game.
Well that's the intro done... Onto the first post...
